  • This is an absolutely beautiful church, riviling many I saw in Europe....Don't forget to go to the back of the church to see the smaller, but also exquisite chapel.
  • It is probably one of the most beautiful churches I have ever seen;
  • As beautiful as the rest of the sanctuary is, the real highlight is the massive altar.
  • This chapel burned and had to be rebuilt in 1980 in it's present form, very different from the main church.

  • When we first walked in, I was truly taken aback by the beauty of the alter area....It wasn't necessarily all of the icons, but the unique lighting that grabbed my attention.
  • Don't forget to go to the back of the church to see the smaller, but also exquisite chapel.

  • While the exterior of the Gothic-Revival Basilica is impressive, itÂ's really rather average....This striking interior is the work of architect Victor Bourgeau, who transformed the originally stern interior into the current design between 1874 and 1880.

  • At the end of each pew you can find detailed carvings of the apostles.
  • if not the entire city, is the Basilique Notre-Dame de Montréal, an amazing structure constructed in just five years between 1824 and 1829.

  • There were three wraparound balconies which, unfortunately, blocked the overall view and effect of the stained glass windows along the walls.
