Traveler Reviews
Overall
- Agra isn't exactly a very pleasant place to stay, with all
- The Agra Fort is very nice
- A short car journey away from the mighty Taj Mahal is the splendid Red Fort.
- It is an amazing place, full of charm and wonder
- One can think of worse places to be exiled to in their old days.
- The buildings in Agra Fort are interesting to visit...they sum up the evolution of Mughal architecture from red sandstone big walls to white marble monuments with fine floral and geometrical designs.
- Impressive
- It truly is a remarkable place to visit.
Value
- The boulevard between the two monuments is completely free of fuel-powered vehicles
- Entrance is included in the Taj Mahal ticket provided you visit it on the same day.
Service
- At Amar Singh Gate (the only entrance to the Fort for visitors, named after a maharajah of Jodhpur), I was assaulted by herds of so-called guides and children selling postcards.
Facilities
- it rushes through the slowly moving traffic, we move on to the Agra Fort, beside the Yamuna river, the same of the Taj.
- The entrance to the fort is quite awe inspiring
- The boulevard between the two monuments is completely free of fuel-powered vehicles
- Entrance is included in the Taj Mahal ticket provided you visit it on the same day.
- Ornate dressing rooms covered in glass works and small mirrors all intricately designed in flowers birds and all kinds of beautiful things.
Atmosphere
- Very clever architecture.
- Apparently the acoustics were so poor
- He rebuilt and fortified the Lodhi fort with the present-day almost impregnable red sandstone walls.
- they sum up the evolution of Mughal architecture from red sandstone big walls to white marble monuments with fine floral and geometrical designs.
Activities/Exhibits
- The quarters where Shahjahan was imprisoned were particularly ostentatious with lots of marble inlaid with jewels and gold and other precious stones.
Views
- ThereĆ's a magnificent garden, overlooked by the harem, and real attempts have been made to restore this to its former glory.
- Has good views of the Taj across the river.
- From most balconies in the pavilions, I could admire the Taj Mahal but had to avoid the aggressive monkeys once again.
- There was also a wooden draw bridge as well before you even got to the gates which made the fort practically impregnable....The quarters of Shahjahan were particularly comfortable with ornate water features and beautiful gardens and lawns.
